Church Directory USA

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

This policy covers both the Church Directory USA website (churchdirectoryusa.com) and the Church Directory USA mobile app.

What we collect on the website

When you submit a church or contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide (name, email address, message, and submitted church details). We do not sell or share this with third parties.

The mobile app

The app is designed to work without an account and collects as little as possible:

  • Location. If you grant permission, your device’s location is used to search for churches near you. Coordinates are sent to our database only as an anonymous search query — they are not stored, logged with your identity, or shared with anyone.
  • Favorites & preferences. Saved churches and notification settings are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded.
  • Notifications. Sunday reminders and the daily verse are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push notification servers and never see a device token.
  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking. The app has no sign-up, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Advertising

The website is free to use and funded by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a range of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are used, and you can change that choice at any time from the consent link on the site.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used — which pages people visit, and where they get stuck. Clarity records anonymized interaction data such as clicks, scrolling and page views. IP addresses are anonymized in Google Analytics. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not sell personal data.

Where consent is required, these tools are only loaded after you have given it: analytics and advertising storage are denied by default for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and the Clarity recording script is not loaded at all until consent is granted.

The mobile app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind.

Public church data

Church listings come from public sources (such as OpenStreetMap), the churches’ own public websites, denominational records, and direct submissions. If your church is listed and you wish to update or remove the listing, contact us and we will act promptly.

Data retention & deletion

Contact messages and church submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle them. To request deletion of anything you have sent us, use the contact form or email us.
